Dear Prayer Partner,
On April 8 it is the turn of the Asian Theological Seminary (ATS), where Amor teaches, to hold its Commencement for about 40 students. Let us tell you about one of these 40, a student Amor loved teaching.
Edu, along with his wife and sons (photo deleted) is going to Cambodia after graduation to teach in a Bible School there. Edu has been to Cambodia on short term mission trips. Seeing the needs there, he decided to major in Christian Education at ATS to equip him for a teaching ministry there. Edu is a lively, hard-working, responsible, optimistic, friendly and adaptable person. He loves the Lord, and has a heart for missions. He has the potential to be an effective missionary. Their first year will be focused on language learning and cultural adjustment.
Please pray for Edu and his family and the other new graduates of both ATS and BSOP as they serve the Lord overseas and in other parts of the Philippines. May they adjust well to life after seminary and be effective in the outreaches, ministries, and churches to which God is calling them.
A seminary always feels so quiet and empty after graduation. Seminaries exist to send their graduates out into ministry, so we are excited about commencements. But, our feelings are always mixed. Will enough new students apply to fill the gaps the graduates leave?
It is not easy to apply to study in a seminary. Parents don't always give permission. Funds for tuition are not always easily raised. Secular jobs and businesses can look quite lucrative and secure compared to the uncertainties of seminary and ministry. Please ask the Lord of the harvest to call a new, qualified and teachable batch of students to both BSOP and ATS.
We are enjoying a nice vacation in Baguio City at the moment. The cool mountain air is so refreshing! We return to ministry and study in Manila on April 8. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
Because God so loved the world…
