July 2006
Returning to the USA after four years in the Philippines is similar in a surprising number of ways to the return of the space shuttle to the atmosphere after being in outer space.
We praise God that He is so faithful to us in the midst of our re-entry culture shock.

Dear Prayer Partner,
On June 6, we, along with our four suitcases and assorted carry-on bags, arrived safely in Denver after more than 31 hours of travel.
A good friend and prayer partner met us at the airport and brought us to our apartment. We were amazed at how nice it was and how well furnished. Thank you, all who helped to set up and furnish our new home!
We felt a moment of panic, though, after our friend, noticing how exhausted we were, left us alone in the apartment. That was when we got thirsty and couldn't figure out where to get drinking water…
Then we remembered that all we had to do was to turn on the faucet! Life really is different in the USA!
Having our own apartment and thus being able to handle re-entry in private at our own pace in our own way has made this our easiest re-entry so far in our missionary career! PTL!
In July we will be focusing on reconnecting and ministering to three groups of people:
1. Jay's family. The weekend of July 4 will be our first long road trip, to Oklahoma City for a Hallowell family reunion. Among other things there will be a 50th Anniversary celebration for Jay's parents there. Later in July we will have the privilege of being with, at different times, two of Jay's sisters, with their husbands and children, when they come to Colorado.
2. Our home church, First Denver Friends Church. Jay preaches July 9 and leads a devotion for the men's group on July 15. We look forward to reconnecting with everyone at FDFC.
3. OMF-International-USA. On July 31 to Aug. 5 we will participate in a training workshop for OMF missionaries doing mobilization like us, held across town in Littleton, CO at OMF's USA office.
May God use our reconnecting, preaching, reporting, and traveling to generate the prayers, new missionary candidates, and funds needed to continue the urgent evangelization of the billions of unreached peoples in East Asia.
Holding on to His faithfulness,
Jay and Amor
P.S. BSOP began its school year on June 13, 2006. We miss our faculty colleagues, the staff, and the students there. Please pray for BSOP as the new students continue to adjust and as faculty teach. May the students learn all that the Lord wants them to learn!
