<body topmargin=0 leftmargin=0 marginheight=0 marginwidth=0> <table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0><tr> <td valign="top" height=120 BGCOLOR="#FFCCFF" TEXT="#080000" bgproperties="fixed" background="0443f781egdyul.gif"> <div> <FONT SIZE="5" COLOR="#009900" FACE="Arial" ><B>Proclaim His Praise in the Islands - the Hallowells</B></FONT> <B> </B><B>|    </B><B> </B><A HREF="index.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Proclaim His Praise in the Islands the "><U><B>Home</B></U></A></div> <div>                                                   </div> <div> </div> </td> </tr><tr> <td valign="top" height=360 BGCOLOR="#CCFFFF" TEXT="#080000"> <div> 0701HHPL</div> <bR> <div> January 2007 </div> <bR> <div> Dear Prayer Partner, </div> <bR> <div> Seven months have passed and only four remain for our current mobilization assignment in the USA.  It has been a wonderful time to enjoy family and friends in the USA again after a four year absence.  We have been encouraged by the opportunities we have been given to mobilize potential new missionaries, prayer partners, and donors to join in what our King is doing in Asia. </div> <div> <IMG SRC="287798e0.gif" border=0 width="121" height="142" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <div> This period also serves as a checkpoint for OMF, you, and us to sense again whether or not God continues to call us to missionary service.  In our case this means whether or not to return to reaching the unreached of Asia and beyond by teaching and mentoring Chinese, Filipino, and other Asian seminary students in Manila, Philippines in May, 2007.  </div> <bR> <div>  <A NAME="four_clearances"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A>OMF uses four ‘clearances’ in order to sense that God has indeed called us to return to the Philippines.  </div> <bR> <div> 1.  <B>A “Welcome Back” from OMF-Philippines</B>.  Two seminaries have invited us to teach, which may be a problem because we may have to disappoint one of them.  <I>Praise the Lord that this clearance has been given by OMF-Philippines.  </I></div> <bR> <div> 2.  <B>Health</B>.  We do have some health issues, all of which have been and/or are being addressed.  We, especially Jay, do need to lose weight and exercise more.  <I>Please pray for us to be able to do so.</I></div> <bR> <div> 3.  <B>Adequate support</B>.  OMF allowed us to stay on the field in 2003, 2005, & 2006 although we were under supported.  However, OMF needs to see indications of increased support, back to 2002 and 2004 levels, in order to clear us to return.  These indications can be new or increased gifts in the early months of 2007.  They can also be promises sent soon of new or increased giving later in the year.  The 2007 need is a 13% or $400 (corrected from print version <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#009900" FACE="Arial" >2/6/07</FONT>) per month increase from 2006 actual giving.  <I>Please continue to ask our Lord to provide.  </I></div> <div> <IMG SRC="28958b80.jpg" border=0 width="600" height="440" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <div> (<A HREF="id142.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Finances"><U>More about OMF support policies and our support</U></A>)</div> <bR> <div> 4.  <B>OMF-USA clearance</B>.  This is usually given if the above three clearances are in order.  Our OMF leaders in the USA need to see that the Lord is still calling us.  <I>May God give our OMF-USA leaders wisdom to do so.</I></div> <bR> <div> The race is worth running!  (Please see 1 Corinthians 9:24 & its context),</div> <div> Jay and Amor</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> by Jay and Amor Hallowell</div> <div> Last update: January 27, 2007</div> <div> --------------------------------- end of Hallowell content ----------------------------------------------</div> <bR> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
