Please pray for all that is needed--
 creative, effective, relevant, prepared teachers
 textbooks and other teaching materials
called and teachable students, and above all,
the wisdom, power, and presence of the Holy Spirit
--to fill this empty BSOP classroom (and others) by June 11.
Dear Prayer Partner,
Warmest greetings from the Philippines! We and our bags arrived safely last Thursday evening, May 17. We continue to experience jet lag, which is normal. It is the hottest time of the year here, which is difficult for us, but also normal. Thank you very much for your prayers.
The Biblical Seminary of the Philippines (BSOP) is at the end of its ‘summer’ break. We can feel the seminary ramping up for the new academic year. Faculty and staff are returning from their vacations and summer studies and ministries. Buildings are being painted. The Academic Dean has scheduled a meeting with us for Saturday, about, she said, all the things she wants to ask us to do. The chaplain stopped by yesterday with his list of things he’d like us to do, like su-pervising student devotions, speaking in chapel, and coordinating some Interest Groups. It feels heavy. It also feels good to be back!
While most of the students won’t return or arrive until early June, a few are around. It has been great, for example, to see M. and J., from outside the Philippines, who are entering their third year. M., still single, related that she now knows Greek and Hebrew. J. had the chance to visit his home recently. He was excited to talk about the 7-month old daughter he left behind (along, of course, with his wife) so he could study here. We continue to be impressed both with the quality and commitment of the students He is calling to study here.
God has provided, is providing, and will provide,
Jay and Amor
