<body topmargin=0 leftmargin=0 marginheight=0 marginwidth=0> <table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0><tr> <td valign="top" height=120 BGCOLOR="#FFCCFF" TEXT="#080000" bgproperties="fixed" background="0443f781egdyul.gif"> <div> <FONT SIZE="5" COLOR="#009900" FACE="Arial" ><B>Proclaim His Praise in the Islands - the Hallowells</B></FONT> <B> </B><B>|    </B><B> </B><A HREF="index.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Proclaim His Praise in the Islands the "><U><B>Home</B></U></A></div> <div>                                                   </div> <div> </div> </td> </tr><tr> <td valign="top" height=360 BGCOLOR="#CCFFFF" TEXT="#080000"> <div> 0707PL</div> <bR> <div> July 2, 2007 </div> <bR> <div> Dear Prayer Partner, </div> <bR> <div> “NOW TEACH THESE TRUTHS TO OTHER TRUSTWORTHY PEOPLE…”  It sounds so simple, when Paul writes it to Timothy (see 2 Timothy 2:2, NLT).  But, what an overwhelming, exciting, interesting, demanding, inspiring and important challenge it is to do this with students at the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines!  Here are a few highlights (answered prayers!) of the first three weeks of the new school year:</div> <bR> <div> •     Enrollment is up!  We welcomed 50 new students, bringing total enrollment in our courses offered at the seminary to about 130.  In addition, some faculty members teach extension classes in churches around Metro Manila.  Jay’s extension class on the Pastoral Epistles begins on July 19.  Please pray for him as he finishes his preparation and begins that course.</div> <bR> <div> •     We have really enjoyed being back with students.  We have sensed God’s leadership, in teaching English, in handling orientation, in our classes, in handling the challenges of settling in (like phone and internet connections initially not working, and still not working well) and in being with and mentoring students and others.  Thank you for your prayers for these requests from <A HREF="id151.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="0705PL"><U>our last letter</U></A>.  Thank you, Lord, for your answers to these prayers.</div> <bR> <div> “…WHO WILL BE ABLE TO PASS THEM ON TO OTHERS.”  Few things are as encouraging as hearing from people whom we have evangelized, discipled, counseled, loved, mentored, and/or taught who are passing these truths on to others.  </div> <bR> <div> •     Sonny was a very young Christian when we met and began to mentor him as a college student in Batangas City in 1990.  We have kept in touch with him since.  In May he was ordained!  He is now planting a church in Manila, along with his wife.  His oldest son, Eljay, was named for Jay.  (His second son is behind him in the photo.)</div> <div> <IMG SRC="2c6b91c0.gif" border=0 width="185" height="284" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <bR> <div> •     Two BSOP faculty members were able to visit some alumni in May.  They brought back incredible stories and video footage of how God is using our BSOP graduates.  Several are the only pastor or one of only a few pastors of churches that now have a thousand or more members.  It is clearly harvest time.  Yes, we know this brief summary doesn’t communicate very well how significant this is.  If only you could have been here…</div> <bR> <div> Because the triune God has revealed “THESE TRUTHS”! </div> <div> Jay and Amor</div> <bR> <bR> <div> by Jay and Amor Hallowell</div> <div> Last update: July 3, 2007</div> <div> --------------------------------- end of Hallowell content ----------------------------------------------</div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
