Dear Praying Friend,
Jay's recent ministry trip with his Urban Mission Class to a ministry that focuses on reaching prostitutes was certainly a highlight for him and his class. They came away moved with compassion for the lives being wasted and destroyed in prostitution. ( Click here for more of Jay's impressions.)
The end of the school year is fast approaching. Graduation at BSOP is on March 30. We are both working hard on our last classes and lectures.
Summer here is April and May. Jay will teach a summer class April 7-12. The class will be on Hermeneutics (how to study and understand the Bible). Please pray! This class will meet 8 hours a day for six days, easily the most intense and concentrated class Jay has ever had to teach. Will his voice last? Will his students survive? Will he be able to adjust the material and methods to fit the time? Only with God's help through your prayers.
On April 16-19 we plan to be involved in a family camp of a large Chinese church. Jay is a main speaker with a series of three evangelistic messages on “Life with a Purpose”. Amor is a counselor. Please pray the non-Christians expected to attend this camp to hear God's voice clearly through Jay's messages and Amor's counseling!
We also have a weekend visit (or two?) to a province to supervise a student in summer ministry and to speak in a church. Please pray for energy to cope with a heavy and hot April, often the hottest and thus most draining month of the year.
In awe of the God who loves,
Jay and Amor
