It is not difficult to understand what an important skill this is.  </div> <bR> <div> Anyway, even with only 16 students in this class, this turned August into a hectic, full, challenging, stimulating month, full of individual time with students (which we like) and grading papers (not a favorite activity).  It was a helpful experiment, in that we were able to help many of the students with their individual weaknesses and needs.  However, it was much more time-consuming and draining than we expected, and left us behind schedule in other areas.  </div> <bR> <div> Was it worth it?  One challenge of seminary teaching is that one may not know the results for another 10 or 20 years.  Most of the students in the class, however, appreciated the individual attention, and the chance to learn and improve.  </div> <bR> <div> Will we do it again?  Probably.  It will depend, of course, on whether or not our other teaching and ministry responsibilities allow us to give that much time.  We do appreciate prayer to know how to balance classroom time</div> <div> with individual follow-up and attention.</div> <bR> <div> September 6-17 is the quarter break.  We plan to finish grading for last quarter, catch up with correspondence and other ministry (including individual time with some students), and prepare for the next quarter, beginning September 20, when Jay will be teaching New Testament 2 (Acts and the Early Pauline Epistles) and Hermeneutics.  It sounds ordinary, but needs prayer!</div> <bR> <div> Because God spoke and wants His people to listen and obey,</div> <div> Jay and Amor</div> <bR> <bR> <div> <A HREF="id50_on_july_31_jay_preached_the_gospel_to.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Jay at BSOP"><U>Click here to see the photo</U></A> that was included in the paper edition with the following caption:</div> <bR> <div> On July 31 Jay preached the gospel to 1,385 people follow-ing two showings of the play "Rahab: The Harlot".  </div> <bR> <div> 414 filled in response cards: </div> <div>  121 to accept Christ, </div> <div>  260 to recommit themselves, and </div> <div>  33 to talk to a counselor.  </div> <div> A Chinese Church is following up those 414.  Thank you for praying!</div> <bR> <bR> <div> by Jay and Amor Hallowell</div> <div> Last update: September 13, 2004</div> <div> --------------------------------- end of Hallowell content ----------------------------------------------</div> <bR> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
