Dear Praying Friend,
Each quarter BSOP asks the students to evaluate each of his/her classes. This is done anonymously, of course, to facilitate honest answers.
Here is a student's comment on one course Jay taught last quarter. "I am like Jonah. I am run-ning away from God's command about what I should do in my life."
The problem with anonymous evaluations is that we have no idea who this student is or what command he or she is running from. But God knows him or her.
Would you please join us in praying for this anonymous student?
Would you pray that the Lord would help each of the 75 BSOP students not only to learn the content of his/her classes, but grow in his/her faith in the Lord? Thank you.
May we also ask you to pray for the following short 'news' items?
- On October 21-24 we will be traveling to Calapan on the neighboring island of Mindoro for a weekend of ministry at a church there.
- Amor was invited to teach a class at another evangelical seminary, Asian Theological Semi-nary or ATS. ATS is on the semester system, while BSOP uses quarters, so the academic calendars don't match. She will be handling "Teaching Clinic" beginning mid-November.
- While our main ministry is teaching and mentoring seminary students, we continue to serve in OMF. We do have some responsibilities as members of this wonderful mission agency.
- Members of OMF in the Philippines elect members of the mission to help with a decision-making and leadership council, held once each three months. Jay was recently selected by his colleagues to serve on this Field Council, meeting next on Nov. 3-5.
- Jay is the chairman of the planning committee for the OMF-Philippines Field Conference, held each 3 or 4 years. There will be around 185 attending this conference, which will be held Dec. 28, 2004 - Jan. 1, 2005. Jay has already received more than 600 emails about various details related to planning this conference.
Because God wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength,
Jay and Amor

BSOP students lead singing at a Retreat earlier this year. Each weekend each student is involved in a ministry practicum with a local church or parachurch organization.
