Dear Prayer Partner,
We are privileged to serve with a wonderful missions agency, OMF-International, though we do not write about it as much as we could. We feel much stronger serving with such a strong international team in doing what God has called us to do. OMF in the Philippines is working to reach unreached Muslim and tribal groups and under reached provinces and people groups, such as the Chinese with whom we work.
Every three or four years all the OMF missionaries in the Philippines meet together for a time of worship, fellowship, teaching, and reporting. So on December 26th we will be flying to Davao City, where Jay, as Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee will be finishing the many last minute details such a conference requires. On December 28 we will be joined by 120 other OMF missionaries and their 58 children for this 4-day conference.
Please pray for this conference, December 28, 2004 to January 1, 2005. Please pray for:
Joyful, meaningful, Spirit-led worship and celebration.
The conference speaker, Pastor Aimee Rae Delmendo, is a Filipino pastor, counselor and trainer with expertise in spiritual formation, which will be the focus of the conference. Please pray for him as he prepares his messages and integrates small group interaction and individual reflection into his messages.
Unity in Christ in the midst of our diversity (17 nationalities; ages from over 70 to only 2 months; involved in many different types of ministries to diverse people groups) - may conference help us both become more unified and to express our unity.
Encouraging and God-honoring attention to transitions, stresses, challenges, and opportunities OMF-Philippines is facing.
Children and youth programs led by 8 volunteers.
Travel, health, safety and security for all.
Amor as she coordinates prayer each day.
Amor also leads a small group reflection group on three days.
Jay as the Chair of the Planning Committee, which means that he directs the conference in all it myriad of details, as well as serving as emcee to keep the conference moving.
Spiritual refreshing and renewal for all! Missionary life is spiritually draining. All of us need to have our gas tanks refilled.
Classes begin again right away on Monday, January 3. Please pray for God's energy and strength as we begin teaching without a chance to catch our breath after conference.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Jay and Amor
