Dear Prayer Partner,
May we ask you to pray for us on the following special days this month?
Fri., Feb. 4 - Please pray for the health and safety of Jay and 7 BSOP students on a weekend of ministry in Payatas (see photo).
Sat., Feb. 5 -Jay and his 7 students need prayer as they reach out to children, teenagers, and adults in separate evangelistic activities in Payatas this weekend.
Sun., Feb. 6 - Kindly ask God to help Jay and his students as they coordinate a medical and dental outreach in Payatas. Several doctors and dentists are joining our mission trip this Sunday afternoon. We hope to treat 400 people who cannot otherwise afford medical or dental services.
Wed., Feb. 9-11 - Please pray for wisdom and vision for Jay and all the members of the Admin. Council, the leadership council of OMF in the Philippines, as they meet these days to make important decisions about OMF's ministries here.
Sun., Feb. 13 - We ask for your prayers as we team-teach a special meeting for youth in a nearby church on “Love, Courtship, and Marriage”, in honor of Valentine's Day.
Mon., Feb. 14 - BSOP Student-Faculty Retreat. Pray for Jay's involvement with the faculty and students of BSOP on this annual spiritual retreat. May there be rich worship and fellowship!
Feb. 21-Mar. 4 - Amor has an intense class for her doctoral degree and will need much energy and wisdom to know how to adjust her normal load to fit in this major class.
Of course, we also need prayer for our “normal” teaching and mentoring loads at the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines (BSOP) (Jay) and Asian Theological Seminary (ATS) (Amor).
Thank you very much for your prayers. “When we pray, God works!” Only God's work is adequate for what is needed this heavy month.
Happy Chinese New Year! (February 9 is the first day of the Year of the Rooster),
Jay and Amor

You cannot smell it, but Jay and his students certainly do smell the mountain of garbage behind them. Some of the poorest of the poor in the Philippines make their living by scavenging in this dumpsite, in an area called Payatas. Please pray for Jay as he leads BSOP students on a mission trip here February 4-6. Click here to see photos of Payatas.
